“District 8 deserves to be represented by someone rooted in our community, who understands the challenges facing our schools and teachers.”

Pam Shernuk is a 32-year resident of Overland Park with decades of service to Johnson County. Her experience working for Blue Valley schools and her leadership in the community, including serving as chair of the Johnson County Commission on Aging, will make her a highly effective legislator in Topeka.

Pam will work to fully fund our schools, including special education, and support legislation that will help keep our students, staff and community safe.

Pam does NOT support raising taxes on Kansans. She DOES support:

– The immediate elimination of sales tax on food, feminine hygiene products, and diapers;
– The immediate elimination of income tax on all social security income;
– The reinstatement of the Local Ad Valorem Tax Relief Fund (LAVTRF) for local units of government to help ease property tax burden for homeowners; and
– Tax credits for higher education students.

This can all be done by returning more than $1 billion in revenue surplus back to taxpayers, without sacrificing critical services and programs.

The boundaries of House District 8 have changed due to redistricting. Residents of Overland Park and Olathe within the blue boundaries now are District 8 constituents!
